Pros

The employee discount is not bad with 10% off hard lines 20% off soft lines and 25% off the K cafe. Part time employees get paid vacation and also have the opportunity to have health insurance along with vision and dental. There is a 401K option though its not great it still there.

Cons

The work load can get heavy sometimes and with most employees making minimum wage the motivation to complete new task can be hard. The company does not like to give out raises they look for any reason not to and if they do it can be as little as 6 cents. This is little to no advancement in the company.

Pros

The work that needs done is fairly simple and requires little to no skill, employee discount is nice, if you work towards it you can learn very valuable selling skills and consumer tips and tricks.

Cons

Work in one department doing the same mundane tasks day in and day out, while upper management promote the incompetent people who have worked there for two weeks to a position of power because they like them as a person. Two years of consistent work and no raise.

Pros

Store management is the best to work for. They are fair, give hours to those who work and try and push out the non-team players. They are realistic and understand sometimes the corporate goals are not always possible. They always try to give you your requested time off and usually do, as long as its reasonable.

Cons

Corporate "management" is a complete waste of the company's money. The majority of them are completely incompetent and unrealistic. They do not care about the company's employees, customers or store management. All they care about is numbers other than the bottom line (for example, Reward Cards, Sears Credit Apps, and Smart Plan Extended Warrantys). They have high expectations and ask for a lot, then turn around and slash payroll hours. The pay you are hired at, is what you stay at, no matter how hard you work. The District Management instructs stores not to pay any associate more than the required pay per hour by law (minimum wage). I have never seen a company with lower morale among employees working at store level than Kmart.
