Pros

I worked at the corporate office, not at a child care center. Lots of very talented and driven people doing the best they can.

Cons

Very high turnover and near constant organizational changes make for constantly shifting strategy. I was at the company for 2 years and had 3 different managers and moved from department to department, even though I did the same job throughout that time. The company does not cultivate talent, and you learn not to take on work outside of your lane.

Pros

The CEO is awesome. He is passionate about kids and families and has great ideas about where he wants the company to go and how it should get there. I think the company has made a big turn around from where it was before the current CEO took over and you get a real sense of family as employee.

Cons

I think the execution of the CEO's vision is hit or miss. There is a struggle in leadership and lack of innovation in how to manage employee. For example, they will give you all the time off you want/need (unpaid) but refuse to let you work from home. I think the may vary by department, but I was in a department that would very easily accommodate work from home situation and I was told one person ruined for everyone. That to me is old thinking and that old saying throwing the baby out with the bath water comes to mind. The very worst thing is the benefits- for my family of 4 the benefits were over $900 a month. That was for a high deductible plan with a copay. For a compnay as big as KCE I would expect HR to negotiate MUCH better pricing and better options. It was the number 1 reason I left the company. I was able to secure a slightly lower paying job but brought home more money because their benefits package was so much better.
