It’s not about the kids

Pros

Vacation time, free lunches, health, dental, and vision insurance, and child care discount.

Cons

You never know when you’re going to get out for the day. If you stay late one day, you’ll be sent on a 2 hour break later in the week to get rid of overtime. So there is no work/life balance. Kids being shuffled around all day to help manage ratios and labor hours. You are also expected to clean the building everyday-scrubbing toilets, mopping the floor, vacuuming, and laundering sheets. Pay is crappy for what is expected and pay raises are only $.10 an hour more which is an insult. Too much corporate greed. Extremely mismanaged.

Pros

They pay very well and have strong benefits. They offer relocation opportunities. They have many locations per market. They have a solid curriculum.

Cons

They routinely go through waves of terminating for no reason long term middle managers at the district level to replace them with cheaper less experienced leadership Their people are snatched up by other companies for the skill sets they possess whereas Kindercare is left with the wreckage caused by their new leadership

Pros

Curriculum is easy to follow and work with. You can move almost anywhere and stay with the company. You are never discouraged from applying for higher level positions. They pay for you to get your CDA.

Cons

District Manager has the last say on everything, thus affects opportunities for advancement. Most classrooms have only one teacher, and management doesn't find time to check in often enough. There is really no coaching or mentoring offered. Supply orders rarely come in time. Menu is very limited and more food could be offered at meals.
