It's great to hear you had a good work life balance and enjoyed the great views in Hoboken. I can agree we've had a lot of changes which can stir up the culture, we do our very best to keep it positive. It sounds like more communication from our leaders will help answer a lot of your concerns. My door is always open to feedback, let me know if you feel comfortable sharing your direct experiences. Pros

Flexible work schedule- WFH or in the office. Unlimited time off. Great views. Free snacks// food// drinks in the office.

Cons

Expect you to work 14 hours a day. No guidance. No career path. No leadership from upper management. Hire managers who don't know how to manage. You aren't running a business, just going around in circles. Spend 95% of your time working for Walmart, not Jet.

the lost culture

Pros

unlimited vacation, close group of co-workers, working for one of the largest retailers in the world. nice office. free lunch/snacks. opportunity for travel

Cons

personal development is no longer important after the acquisition, there are promises of advancement/promotions when signing on but are very rarely followed through. the promotion process is arbitrary and unfair (extremely political and managers are forced to bucket their employees into a curve no matter the team size or performance compared to other teams). Walmart has turned a fast paced, high functioning work environment into just the opposite. the work life balance does not exist, get ready to work 80+ hours a week, every single week- through holidays, weekends, etc. you are expected to be on call 24/7 and if not, you are penalized when it comes to yearly reviews.

Thank you for being with us more than 3 years and I am happy to hear that you are still enjoying your team mates! I’m concerned you feel you are not able to have the work/life balance that is appropriate for you. We love having you work hard to deliver for our customers but we all need time away from work to recharge. Additionally, we strive for a fair performance review process that results in rewarding our top performers regardless of team size or function. Sounds like you may have had a different experience so please reach out to me directly and we can discuss further. Regarding manager training, I agree – we need to do more and we are! We have launched leadership essential classes and will be launching a retail career framework that includes manager training in the first half of this year. Supporting our managers and employees is a top priority and I’d love to discuss specifics with you so we can build the best training possible. Swing by the 7th floor so we can connect!
