Pros

- Decent exercise by lifting heavy equipment and orders for customers on a daily basis. - Working outside during the summer was so much better than inside but, when it rained it could either be great or you just now had a longer day ahead of you. - The hours during the peak season of summer and spring are good for students and they can expect to depend on the staff between hours of 25-35 hours per week. - The benefits for part time maybe are useful to those who would need them or want extra benefits.

Cons

- The low seasons can be crippling to your pay when you are working for maybe 8-24 hours in a week. On average I worked maybe between 17-24 hours a week. Most of the time I was always in for 20 hours regardless of my availability for scheduling. - No tips and no incentives for lot associate to get any form of recognition for the hard work they do. Front end staff can either be your friends or your department manager can be the most disrespectful and not even recognize your efforts with the company. - As a lot associate, I felt that other staff at the front end abused or looked down upon lot associates as inferiors.

Pros

The real pro is the people you get to work with. There are some great Department supervisors, and some good ASM,s. The Homer Fund is a great thing for people in trouble financially, from some of the things life throws at us.

Cons

Very little respect for real job performance, if you are part time. It does not matter if you are the best sales associate in any department, the chance of getting full time employment are slim to none if you are not someones pet project. After 10 years of out performing all the people whom come and go I still cannot get full time, because they talk of ratios. What that means is it does not make the shareholders enough money if they have more then the very minimum of full time staff.

Pros

Working with contractors and customers to make their dream kitchens a reality! A busy, learning environment. A variety of customers and experiences daily. I loved the busy, fast pace and many employees became friends.

Cons

High pressure to meet sales quotas or threatened with not receiving raise if missing one month (quota) in previous 12. Pay is not high enough and despite meeting previous 12 sales quotas, having numerous customer service letters and having never been written up they gave me an excuse for a reason not to give me a raise! I am petite female and I had to download the sink isle alone despite some of the boxes being just shy of my entire height . I was expected to achieve this by ladder as, no time was allotted to allow me to get my Reach training. I worked every weekend for the first year, I received 2 weekends off in the second year. I didn't receive any weekends off in the 3rd year despite being told that it was a policy I rarely even received 2 days off in a row.
