      Pros

      *Business trips are great *Because of the lack of communication, I have a lot of autonomy in my work

      Cons

      *Lack of communication and company strategy *Technology is very weak, very difficult to report on anything *Heirarchy has a military air to it *If you're young, this place will only frustrate you with red tape *Not a supportive community

      Not quite what I was expecting but it was still fun.

      Pros

      Fine summer job. I got to see the beauty of Alaska while getting paid. I loved being able to go on the other tours for free. The best was helicopter rides and hiking on the Glacier.

      Cons

      They promised me lots of hours when I was hired but I didn't even get half of that. Flying and living costs took the bulk of my income. Because of the Recession the tips were lame. Made little money. Also unprofessional management. Driver guides were expected to be professional but we can't be when management can't be professional with us.

      Pros

      HAL is a large, financially stable company. Employee benefits are okay after a full year of employment. Medical benefits are okay as well.

      Cons

      A very high pressure, unpleasant work environment where employees are not treated with any respect. Taking orders is the norm. Communication is non-existent throughout the company. Most of the time, people don't even say hello in the hallways. There is no work/life balance.
