Pros

Good job for last resort. I had a great time communicating with the customers and i really like to help out all the customers. I did my best everyday to improve the company. But it was just to hard to satisfy everybody.

Cons

No advancement to further your job. There was no communication with managment and employees. Some times the goal to meet with the company was imposiable to complete cause sometimes there were not enought customers. And it was very disapointing when your manager yelled at you because you werent making the numbers but the problem was there are not customers. So what do you do. You move on and find another job.

Pros

if you make it to Branch Manager you get unlimited free use of a company car. Gas and insurance are also included. Although the 2 week training is boring and elementary (about 6th grade level difficulty), you learn some useful basic selling techniques such as active listening and overcoming objections. It's not that hard to upsell people if you have half a brain.

Cons

Low hourly pay so lots of pressure to sell insurance/upsell for commissions. Even with commissions, pay is still low. They're starting to require college degrees although in no way does a degree help you for this job. You will have to help wash cars even in the required slacks and a tie uniform.

Pros

Okay money if make it to Assistant Branch Manager, also get to drive different cars all of the time. You get to interact with some customers who are nice and appreciate your services.

Cons

Long hours, non ethical sales behavior, too much pressure to sell, dress code, washing cars all day long, not enough employees. Most of the customers are so completely rude and unappreciative. You get verbally abused all day long most of the time from people who are having a bad day and take it out on you because they feel that they are better than you because you are working at Hertz Rental Car. I felt like a trashy used car salesman most of the time and didn't like to look at myself in the mirror.
