Pros

You can meet some cool people. The people you work with are your support, even if they drive you crazy sometimes.

Cons

Where to start. 1. You're basically on your own, your store I mean. Most of the time you'll have NO cars, so you'll be getting yelled at a lot. 2. Hertz right now is going through a really bad financial crisis. It used to be that you'd work such long hours that it would drive you crazy, but at least you'd get somewhat of an ok pay. they RECENTLY cut overtime, you are only allowed to work 40 hours a week, making it almost really difficult to live on. They are trying to say that this is for the employees, but it wasn't until a recent talk with a manager in Houston did I learn that they're basically making up for all the money they've lost. 3. You might say, or they might tell you, "your bonus will make up for all the lack of income you get" which is true, but sadly, they change the bonus system so much that it's really hard to do that, and for the people that do do that, there's a lot of issues ethically that you have to do. FOR EXAMPLE, giving someone a car that SHOULD NOT be on the road, which happens almost twice a day. A lot of illegal things go on there Another thing, all the good reviewS on here are written by corporate... AFTER THEY WERE VOTED ONE OF THE WORST COMPANIES TO WORK FOR.

Pros

Nice staff, genuine and easy to get on with. An international staff makes it interesting.

Cons

Micro management. Poor pay. Poor staff training and development. Out of date building and work environment. Very poor management engagement with staff in Customer Service and Sales. Incompetent management in this department. Succession is based on who you know and not on ability necessarily. The company is not committed to its staff - it is interested in what the shareholders want - more growth.

Pros

Loved working with the people at the location, developing employees, gaining valuable experience in customer service and sales, company car

Cons

Upper management is a disgrace..they set unreachable goals and don't provide the necessary tools to succeed. Pay is low for hours worked. They work you to death without care especially at the management level. They don't care about the frontline employees when they are the ones most responsible for the success of the company.
