I have to admit, People are friendly and most of the time willing to help you with your problems

Imagine working in a company where the CEO sends an aggressive email to everyone, saying, “I talked with my friends, and they think it's better to come to the office, and so should you.”

colleagues are nice the super high pressure work and heavy workload really make you grow super fast

I joined HelloFresh with one of the new markets as a marketing analyst, at the very beginning I really expected it would be an exciting journey and I am gonna learn a lot, the fact is, I did learn a lot, at a cost of my work life balance and mental health, I can not remember how many times I received messages, emails at 10 pm, 11pm, 12 pm and even on the weekend. and asked me finish by tomorrow morning, when I woke up, I had to postpone all the tasks on hand, and in weekly meeting still received a feedback that I was not working hard enough, Countless time I woke up panically, afraid my manager throw 7 emails in 5 mins, like yesterday. and being in such a high pressure working environment really caused some pathological changes in my body. I can feel my heart getting tighten and really hard to breath when I tried to sleep. Although I achieved all the OKRs , I received the reason of terminating my contract was my strategically thinking is not up there. For me, it is pain reliefs, and if the time moved back to the very begging, I would tell myself not to join the company, for the sake of my mental and psychological heath.

HelloFresh provides a diverse and friendly working environment. The company maintains reasonable expectations for its employees, reflecting the typical German culture of 'Feierabend,' where work concludes at 18:00 without any pressure for excessive hours or extraordinary achievements. The supplied IT equipment adequately serves its purpose.

Cons

HelloFresh's approach towards employee benefits often appears to be minimal, seemingly aimed at meeting basic requirements rather than genuinely prioritizing a positive working environment. Salaries are on par with market rates, while the allocated vacation time, starting at 25 days, falls noticeably below that offered by other German employers, including tech companies in Berlin. Other benefits provided by the company are, at best, at an average market level. The office space at HelloFresh is characterized by a modern design that, unfortunately, leans towards the negative end of the spectrum. It tends to be dimly lit and lacks assigned desks, resulting in insufficient lockers for accommodating all staff members. Consequently, employees often feel a lack of ownership or comfort within the workspace. This issue becomes particularly evident during compulsory 'Company Days,' where all employees are expected to be present at the office, leading to a shortage of desks and high noise levels. Even on a typical day with only around 20% desk utilization, there remains a shortage of meeting rooms. In general, it can be observed that HelloFresh is currently experiencing a challenging stage of growth. Although the company is still heavily influenced by its founders, they seem to overlook the fact that with over 1000 engineers employed, personal loyalty alone cannot sustain the business effectively.
