Toxic work culture

Pros

The brand name: the external image of the company is still quite good

Cons

The toxic work culture that starts at top level and moves down to you on a daily basis. The managers are a bit too involved in day to day life and at time you lack the ownership. They use probation and the 2 year contract to presure employees, some colleagues complained that they were threatened that if they don't do xyz, their contract wouldn't be extended, so there is no job security whatsoever.

Pros

HelloFresh offers some enjoyable perks, including an office stocked with Costco snacks and a generous 75% employee discount on meal kits (though it is treated as taxable income).

Cons

HelloFresh does not value new ideas although it is supposed to be a tech company and continue to ask operations to cut cost to the point of compromising quality but will spending millions on marketing ads on social media. The company also prefers to hire people from south Asia directly with no western education or understanding of the culture of any sort over Canadian people that were educated here, this is also true for their DC distribution centers where most workers are temporary foreign students from south Asia on a student visa will attending diploma mill. salary is extremely low and not competitive , huge part of your comp is in equity, however the stock is performing terribly has dropped 75% of its value since covid and not doing anything else to compensate employees for their lost value in equity, which is probably the reason why they want to hire immigrants and temporary students from south Asia over Canadians because they assume that they won't complain about the salary of working conditions.

Pros

- The people that work here are kind and trying their best

Cons

The company is slowly contracting more and more causing leadership to try and ship crazy ideas in extremely small timelines. No one is on the same page and most people just want everyone to figure it out. Do not expect work / life balance while here.
