Pros

- good structured training (module 1 and 2) -

Cons

- no work and life balance - 10 hours a day work - 8 to 5.30pm (most likely overtime) - dirty kitchen - bad culture (its mostly english/irish on WHV) - unrealistic KPI and target - impossible to earn bonus - other consultants are competing with you to steal your candidate - you can't work on any jobs, you are limit to your location, your specialism - if you are lucky enough to get placed in a warm desk with high salary job, you might be able to make a tiny bonus every month - high turn over - name and shame consultant that has low KPI - low salary 55k and work 50 hours a week

Thank you for your feedback. As a business, we work hard to provide our people with a great place to work and the culture at Hays is one of the key reasons we consistently receive high scores in our annual employee engagement survey, including a score of 87% this year. We’d be keen to explore your comments further and would appreciate it if you could get in touch with Erin McLoughlin, Head of People & Culture at erin.mcloughlin@hays.com.au or 8226 9716 to discuss further.

Pros

There is so much to be said about Hays as an organization and what it means to work not for them but with them. Almost a year ago i found myself here on Glassdoor reading review after review in hopes it would provide me enough feedback for me to feel comfortable making a decision to accept an offer or not. People can have different experiences and i came across reviews both good and bad. However, after reviewing quite a few of the reviews i had enough information to be comfortable accepting and i look back and i am more than happy that i did. Since starting with Hays i have had the opportunity to work alongside some of the most talented professionals i have ever worked with and they have mentored me and provided me with some of the best development and training EVER! The company culture is the epitome of work hard/ play hard and we truly do both. I have never had more fun with an organization in my life. It is a rare opportunity to find a company in the sales/recruiting industry that doesn't just advertise work hard/play hard but actually lives it. With the training i have received paired with my hunger/urgency to be successful i have come to distinguish myself as a viable part of the company. In under a year my success with Hays has afforded me the opportunity to pay off student loans and purchase a home! This is a high performing culture and if you are hungry Hays is the place to be. At the end of the day performance is critical to your success and the companies success. If you are ready to perform and enjoy doing it Hays is the right place for you. For anyone wondering, i don't get a bonus or any incentive for my review. I merely get to brag about the company i love and my success and everyone loves to brag! - Great Holiday/Vacation package - Great base pay and lucrative commissions - Awesome and high performing team - experiencing rapid expansion which allows a ton of opportunity down the road

Cons

I have yet to experience anything that i would consider a con. If/when i do i will update the thread.

Pros

Multiple local offices, so you may get the chance to work closer to home

Cons

Below average pay (5k+ less than similar roles elsewhere, minimum). Management play favourites, if you aren’t a favourite don’t expect promotions or training opportunities. Management will lie to you about everything. If management promise you anything don’t expect them to follow through. Management attempt to influence any feedback given to senior management about their performance, the average employee isn’t allowed to directly speak to senior management without their direct manager vetting what they have to say. Superficial promotion structure. Unrealistic targets set. No interaction allowed between different teams, even working in the same department. Bare minimum in terms of “benefits”. Compliance and support staff are treated as second class citizens. No work/life balance, unless you’re a manager or a favourite. Everyone else has to make up time to cover for them. Draconian sick policy. This wouldn’t be required if they created a positive working environment.

Thank you for your feedback. I’m concerned to read your comments as it doesn’t mirror what we strive for at Hays and not reflective of the meritocratic and inclusive culture we have across our business. We’d like to explore your feedback further so could you please get in touch with Kim Borst, HR Manager, in London Ebury Gate for a discussion.
