Pros

Can’t think of any.

Cons

Lack of support/management, unrealistic targets, mis sold desks, poor strategy/long-term vision. Basic salary is decent for RC level, but the commission scheme is the worst I’ve ever seen. It also goes up depending on your position, so you must bill the company £60k (and make about £5k in commission) to even start reaping any rewards (upon promotion to senior level). The work/life balance is poor, no flexible working, wfh etc. Although I didn’t really have a manager, so could pretty much do what I want to anyway. One time I came in 2 hours late and nobody even noticed.

Pros

4 weeks vacation Disability through benefits plan Free booze all the time

Cons

Free booze all the time... sometimes even in the mornings at meetings. If you go on disability, understand that your manager will tell the entire office the confidential reason why, and bad mouth you when (if) you return. Managers are trained specifically to create fear in their teams. They think fear = productivity. It does not. Fear = burn out, excessive stress, strain on mental health and a toxic culture. Management is a joke. The most senior manager in the office frequently made inappropriate and sexual jokes openly, creating a very uncomfortable environment to attempt to be professional in. No work/life balance. Hours are 8-5 but if you don't work 7-6 you'll get a talking to.

Thank you for taking the time to leave this review. It is my personal priority as President, Hays Canada and the goal of all Hays leadership to foster a positive employee experience in an inclusive and respectful work environment. In my 11 years leading the Canadian business, we have always maintained office hours of 8.30am-5pm and put a lot of effort into training, celebrating team wins and developing and supporting our people. We also aim to foster an environment of openness where our staff can feel comfortable discussing on-the-job challenges with either management or our People & Culture team. I am very unhappy to read these comments and am keen to discuss the specifics with you. I would encourage you to email me at rowan.ogrady@hays.com to set up a time to discuss. Thank you Rowan O'Grady President, Hays Canada

Pros

Location of office is amazing

Cons

- Work life balance is non existent. - The long hours are not reflected in the salaries they offer. - Office environment often feels like a school, with overworked underpaid employees taking out their frustrations on each other, with the management policing behavior as it suits them. - Incredibly high turnover of staff, no one stays there past 2 years out of college.
