Pros

People are generally friendly. Stocked pantry. No clock in/out system - independence. Salary is good too, with the commission incentive.

Cons

It can get very noisy in the office when everyone is on the phone, so please assess yourself if this is the place for you. KPI is the name of the game here, you don't reach it then they'll put you through programs to improve it which can be distressing - the pressure in meeting the KPI is enough as it is and the program is designed in a way that your manager(s) WILL email you hourly targets to reach and you must provide reasons for not meeting them. Crazy micromanagement. Trust and relationship with your manager is a huge thing to gain, especially if you are not working for the manager that hired you during the assessment center stage. They will press about your KPI, expecting you to hit them in your first month when you are still in the learning stage. This company only wants FAST RESULTS and not the overall development and growth of the employee. It's no wonder the turnover rate is super high. They'll hint to you that they want you out by using the line "this is not for everyone". There is no balance in the demographics, which is 90% dominated by 1 race.

Pros

- they often organise fun parties involving alcohol - nice office - westernised culture

Cons

They expect you to come in and perform on Day 1, even if you’re still attending trainings, trying to learn the jargons for the industry you recruit for, figuring out how things work. Their expectations on new employees can be extremely unrealistic. When you speak to them, they would say you have 6 months probation, but they expect you to meet your KPIs on your first few months. If you are not performing, they will put you in a performance management program with more KPIs to meet, none of the ex hays employee actually completed their probation even if they’re not performing cause they will manipulate the whole situation, say things that will make you want to leave. They will start off by saying “this job is not for everyone”, then give you options to either resign or go through that program, and there is a risk that you might not be able to meet KPI and get terminated subsequently. It will make your life harder after leaving Hays. There was no communication from my manager that I got into pre-performance management, and I only found out during mid month because the whole time the manager was telling me that they will email me my monthly KPI and if I don’t meet them it will lead to further actions, but they did not explicitly tell me this is called “pre - performance management”, it’s unfair and I was left with half of the month to try and hit my KPI, felt like they did it on purpose. There are also favouritism going on in the office. Those who are close to the managers often get more chances even if they fail to meet Kpi, they get special treatment. Not as meritocratic as they claimed to be. It’s all a facade. Just don’t join if you are not into sales, even if you are willing to try but not sure if you can perform, please try it out in other recruitment companies like randstad, Michael page etc. not here, just… no.
