      Cons

      Lack of communication and transparency with the general public can sometimes lead to awkward conversations with customers and employees who just want to know why we do things the way we do them.

      Pros

      Great for beginners learning how to manage people. You are given a good deal of responsibility which can feel good to the right person.

      Cons

      work environment, opportunity to advance, and is not true to their core message. This is a non-profit that gives bonuses to managers and asst managers which deter the person from making the best decision for the community. Examples are paying all regular employees minimum wage, even with 5+ years of experience, and overcharging for donated products. These things should be sold to the community at a fair price but these prices are comparable to most stores. Their job training program teaches people to work for only goodwill. All their "goodwill" they put out to the community is advertisement only.

      I love working with our clients, but supervisors and upper management are hard to deal with.

      Pros

      I like working with our clients and assisting them with increasing their independence within the community. I can connect with some of the other staff I work with. There is usually not a problem with changing your schedule or asking for time off.

      Cons

      Pay is very low compared to the upper management. CEO does not follow the mission and is very money-motivated. Staff are not usually listened to.
