Good place to do research but need to sacrifice your social life a little bit

Strong engineering department and lots of seminars to attend. If you are an engineering student, you can get a lot of hands on experience

Cons

Generally speaking, tough life here. But it also depending on which group you are working at.

Pros

Georgia Tech is on the forefront of many science technologies. Other than interacting with some of the brightest minds in Computer Science, I also formed connections with many colleagues and was put into contact with many top hiring companies for after Graduation.

Cons

Although I was only a Teaching Assistant, the tech work ethic is very demanding. Doing an additional 15-20 hours of work on top of 5 classes was rather challenging.

Good retirement options with the Teachers' Retirement System, being around students is energizing, lots of interesting research and business development activities keep the work interesting.

Cons

OHR/senior management unconcerned with employee development, primarily concerned with avoiding litigation and bad publicity. Difficult to expose poor management practices.
