Pros

Privately owned and agile. The firm has a nice culture and there is plenty of opportunity here. they maintain a very good profile in the industry for good reason. Fundamentally sound business principles make it easy to work with integrity.

Cons

A little stuck in the past. Has not kept up with the times. Lacking in accountability at higher levels and recent attempts to counter this look reactive rather than well planned measures to restore growth and stability. Advancement potential limited.

Pros

Any new recruit is basically left to define their role themselves which is great when you are a self-motivating person and you generally know what is a good thing to do in regards to strengthening Firmenich's fragrance expertise.

Cons

For any non-self-motivating person it is a nightmare to figure out what your job role is, what is expected of you and how things are supposed to develop.

Pros

Fascinating flavor and fragrances organization with a rich staffing that spans the globe. One of the most interesting places I have ever worked at and I typically enjoyed the daily challenges of my highly demanding job.

Cons

Despite geographic diversity (affiliates in Europe, Asia and Latin America) only a handful of African Americans are actually hired and at the time of my employment none were on a management track regardless of qualifications and experience.
