Pros

They work with insurance carriers that pay you high commissions.

Cons

Every single one of the policies you sell will get flipped by an insurance agent who actually knows what they're doing -- and aren't selling just for a commission. Family First Life sells only simplified issue products, even to healthy people who would qualify for "preferred" rates. So you're actually doing most of your clients a disservice by selling them overpriced non-med insurance. Also, they use primarily Americo for most of their products. Why? Americo pays the highest commissions in the insurance industry. But their rates are HORRIBLE. Laughably horrible. Any polished insurance agent scoffs when they run into an Americo policy. It's as easy to flip as a beer can. The amount of chargebacks a typical FFL agent has is staggering. I got inside information that Family First has one of the highest chargeback and cancellation percentages of any IMO in existence today. This came from a very reputable source. I was also told they've been dropped from insurance companies in the past, and other insurance companies don't want to work with them because of their reputation and because of their chargebacks.

The claims in this review are 100% false. As far as FFL's quality of business being "the worst in the industry" isn't even possible as every insurance carrier has quality standards that every IMO has to maintain in order to carry a contract with them. We do sell mostly non-med insurance since that is what our clients are looking for, our clients fill out leads that specifically say "no medical exam". We meet with middle American families that do not want to go through the process of giving blood and urine to apply for a policy that is issues at a higher premium then what they were quoted 90% of the time. The majority of our business is Return of Premium since 80% of people outlive their term policies we ensure that the client receives all of their money back at the end of the term which we believe is how you help families opposed to getting them a better rate on a policy that doesn't have a Return of Premium so all of their money goes to the insurance company. There isn't an insurance company in the world that would share an IMO's quality of business with an agent, the fact that this person claims to have received this info "from a very reputable source" just shows the lack of validity in this review. We do not hide our comp levels or our lead costs, if you've ever listened to one of our training calls or been to a Sales Conference that we host you would know that we are very transparent about the expenses that go along with being a top producer. This person may not know that as they probably did not participate in FFL's free training program in which caused them to be unsuccessful as an agent with us. Yes comp does fluctuate with each carrier but at FFL we do offer the highest possible comp on every product that we sell.

Pros

They start you out at a high commission level (BUT THIS IS A NEGATIVE IF YOU WANT TO BUILD AN AGENCY BECAUSE YOU WILL NOT HAVE AN OVERRIDE OFF YOUR TEAM BECAUSE EVERY ONE COMES IN AT A HIGH COMP)

Cons

The leads were horrible quality and they were selling these leads to multiple agents. They only work with a handful of insurance carriers so your options are limited versus the other IMOs out there. Yes you start at a high compensation level but if there aren't enough leads to go around then who cares. Making one sale versus 10 with another company at a lower comp level, you end up making more with other companies at a lower initial comp. Also if you build an agency you won't hardly get overrides off your team because they push you to start people off at 100 to 110% comp which is not sustainable over the long term.

Our leads are all exclusive leads we've never had a complaint about lead quality from agents that actually sell and work with us. This review seems to full of false claims for example, FFL is contracted with over a dozen carriers so there are plenty of options for your clients needs. Our leads are never sold to more than one agent and you are not required to buy leads through FFL. There is no insurance agent in the country that can say with a straight face that high comp for the producer is a bad thing. We start agents off at a high comp level because we don't believe in greed, we believe the agent making the sale should be paid the most off of their own efforts. It is impossible to make more money on a lower comp basic math contradicts that claim. We've found that our turnover is a lot lower with high comp because everyone is making money.

Pros

I would give it negative stars if possible!

Cons

Over priced leads, their HIGH COMP is literally only with 1 carrier and 1 product. They do not cater to the part time agent and they under value the part timers efforts tremendously. They are engaged in multiple lawsuits due lack of integrity from the top down.

Based on the allegations in this review and the fact that they are 100% false it is more than likely that this person never worked with Family First Life. One thing that we have found with our success in the life insurance industry is that we have ruffled the feathers of some of our peers which has caused them to post erroneous reviews online. However we do feel the need to respond to these reviews anyway. At Family First Life we do not believe in the concept of agents buying cheap, old, resold leads because the rate of success is much lower for the agent. We do not require that our agents buy leads through Family First Life but when they do their leads are never resold and they are brand new in fact most agents that buy new leads issue pay over $20,000 a month. When it comes to compensation we offer the highest comp possible on every product we have with every carrier we work with. This has been a blessing for our agents and has caused friction with other IMO's that offer the same products with much lower comp. We have multiple Mortgage products that go up to 140% and one that tops out at 150% which are yet to see anywhere else in the industry. We definitely value part time agents in fact we have several part timers making over $100,000 with us this year. We appreciate all of our agents our diversity as a company is one of the main things that separates us from others. We are the only IMO that we are aware of that does not require the agent to sign a contract with them as we believe that all agents are truly independent. If anyone has any questions about our comp plan, lead program or anything else in regards to our company please contact us at 860-317-1324
