Pros

Location of office and able to roll over vacation days.

Cons

So Many!!! -horrible pay you can’t live off off -false hope of getting promoted -favoritism -held to super high standards that you are scared to ever make a mistake -minimal training -out of date technology -constant micromanaging -stuck up atmosphere -incredibly stressful as they hire directors with minimal experience and put all the work on the coordinators -super high turn over.

Stressful

Pros

A lot of career opportunities due to all of the associations that EDI manages, most of them being medical non-profit organizations. It was interesting and rewarding to get to work with accomplished researchers and doctors. EDI also hosts fun events for their workers during Bastille Days, halloween, etc, and has paid time off between Christmas and New Years. They offer paid healthcare insurance premiums for single employees and 3% pay raises annually.

Cons

High stress levels, overwhelming workloads and not enough staff. A lot of times you have to work long hours, but you are a salaried employee and not compensated for your overtime. For the intense workload, long hours and stress levels the pay should be more.

A good place to work

Pros

Great location (downtown), free parking after year 3, challenging work, ability to move between clients to gain experience, great co-workers, personal professional development is encouraged and financially supported.

Cons

Inflexible schedule, all-office work (no work-from-home option), restrictive work environment where my expertise takes a back seat to society member leadership ideas that are uninformed and based on a whim, my work is 'overseen' by member leadership that doesn't bother to learn what I do (and this is perpetuated with new iterations of leadership).
