It may sound like a cliche, but the company is truly a good 'ole' boy network. Essilor acquires a vast amount smaller optical companies, and with that comes the intergration of inviduals who are grandfathered into the company with life time contracts.(Extreme nepatism). Needless to say, it is a total recipe for disaster to incorporate a "mom & pop" philosophy into a corporate structure.
If you are looking for innovation, don't stop here. The company is extremely prehistoric in terms of system applications, and processes. It is difficult to learn anything. No formal training. It is very much a "hit the ground running" type of atmosphere.
