      Pros

      The team I managed. A lot of really hard working people.

      Cons

      Poor insurance benefits: a company the size of Essilor should be able to offer affordable benefits. However, many employees have to purchase benefits through affordable care act because they cannot afford the monthly cost of the offered benefits. Lack of concern or care for employees: HR is so far removed that they only speak to the people causing the problems, namely, untrained managers who bully and verbally and sexually harrassed employees and peers. When the matter is brought to light then the target becomes the whistleblower. Nepotism and lack of real opportunity: employees have to either be one of the many bad actors or a relative of one in order to get promoted.

      Global presence of the brand.

      Cons

      plenty... no motivation, no work life balance, no rewards for performers. if you are not in sales / marketing it is absolutely zero rewards or recognition. No respect for talent. Lot of internal politics. HR team don't have a say on anything. it is all based on your manager and department head. there is no career path, promotions, internal / inter company / department movement. even if you move it made sure to be a long waiting time and a complex procedure. when it comes to employee benefits everything is cost cutting. you cant call it as MNC even when their HQ is singapore and their HQ is Paris. everyone in the team is a manager, then who is working?

      Pros

      There is as much job mobility in Essilor as you want. If you have the drive to grow and make connections, you can go anywhere and do anything in this company. The culture in the Dallas HQ is very friendly. Everyone is kind and outgoing, the workday is usually very pleasant. The benefits seem to be good, 401k matching is stellar. Very stable company (for the most part)

      Cons

      The salary is typically below market or toward the bottom of market rates Some groups have a "french ceiling" where the growth is limited for American employees HR and Talent Development is really in your own hands. Essilor has not been so great at keeping good talent here
