I’m genuinely sorry to hear your thoughts as we’ve taken a lot of time to build a strong management team with an open culture over the past few years.
I know we can’t please everyone with promotion choices but please be assured that every promotion is considered very carefully and it is something that matters an awful lot to me personally and the rest of the senior management team. Progression of our staff is incredibly important and is treated in that manner. We’re a sales business so a track record of strong financial performance is a key part of our promotion criteria but I don’t feel that’s at the expense of other attributes such as team work, character and attitude. For example, we really value team players who work to grow the people in their team as that’s how the business has grown over the last 32 years.
With regards to our bonus scheme, we know that it doesn’t suit everyone as we offer a quarterly team-based bonus that relies on the team doing well. It’s not commission based but this helps foster our culture of team work and does encourage longevity in the business which is supported by a strong tenure of people in the office.
