Pros

Work at home and that's about it!

Cons

Company has now abandoned the United States rater pool and created a Sweatshop type office in Delhi, India to score the TOEFL Test. These raters are not qualified to score this test and get paid a small fraction of former US raters. ETS continues to charge more for this test and then disappointingly delivers a terrible product and tries to pinch pennies to loyal employees. This is now a scam and an embarrassment to the education community. Do not take this inferior test, as there are very underqualified people with no experience scoring it. To each their own.

Tightening up requirements

Pros

I can't think of any other than working at home.

Cons

This company has done its workers so dirty, and they're even dirty on Glassdoor. Any of the 5 star reviews of being a rater should be looked at with extreme skepticism. On top of the massive pay cut, they have tightened requirements for workers until there is nothing enjoyable about working here anymore. Your SL doesn't tell you how your productivity is. Instead, they use machines to tell you if you're scoring enough papers accurately. On the surface, this automation sounds great, but they will eat your firstborn if it can make them more money. And trust that you'll get a letter or two from someone's nephew or niece about how you're not up to par. And it will sound like something from a robot. Absolutely soul sucking. $15/hour? I can do nearly anything at that rate. And I'm sure you can, too.

Pros

For years ETS was a place I was proud to work for that really cared for it’s employees. Leadership was very open and shared what was going on good or bad. The Kurt Landgraf retired

Cons

Since Landgraf’s retirment the new leadership has ceased any innovation and has been focused on cost cutting and selling off valuable assets. Staff is no longer provided with what the vision for the future is or even a basic overall strategy. In addition there have mass terminations that do not seam to follow any logical plan.
