Pros

casual, work life balance, location

Cons

the office is a pit... people practically sit on top of each other and executives use closets as make-shift offices.... literally like 4 people in a cube that's barely assembled properly... OSHA should take a visit a lot of the employees are miserable benefits are lacking, no 401k match

Pros

Very nice store with good employee discount. It was nice to work somewhere where I had extensive product knowledge, so felt confident in assisting customers.

Cons

Management is very poor, if not nonexistent. There is blatant preferential treatment for some, and inappropriate behavior, which alienates employees and causes low morale. The lack of corporate structure makes it impossible to speak with anyone else to resolve any personnel issues. There is no Human Resources department at Dover. The feeling is that Dover doesn't care about individual employees as long as the stores are making their numbers. So my advice to someone looking to work there is this: as long as you can not let favoritism bother you, that you can just go with the flow, and that you are ok with a non-corporate environment with very little professional communication or consideration, then you will be fine there. You will definitely never earn enough to support yourself if you live alone, no matter how many hours you work. But if you just want something part-time that involves horse things and horse people, this could be a good fit for you.
