Absolutely none, if u want to be made to feel less than subhuman sign on. Your job as a manager is slinging dirty crappy cheap freight day in and day out. It’s disgustingly filthy in these stores and the people u will work with r barely trying to survive. Don’t I repeat don’t ever consider it. Ur selling ur soul to the devil. U will work in the ghetto conditions.

Cons

The management will have u sit for hours as a new hire watching actors on these ridiculous films to protray ur day. It’s comical. Then u will be tested. Then u will think to yourself. God in heaven take me. It’s horrible. It’s nasty grimy dirty and slimy work for $43,000 as a manager. That’s it and u will live there for 12-15 hours a day. Or be threatened. Because u will live there. U will encounter the poorest of humanity trying to save a dime. U will wake up everyday hating ur life. Don’t do it. Digging a ditch outside breathing clean air is so much better

Pay is fair is you can force time to be off.

Cons

Upper management has no boundaries and work life balance . Phone calls and emails never stop. RDs try to act like they care but the acting stops there's. DVPs and up are very clear that employees mean nothing unless they hand picked them. Internal promotions have been halted.

Dollar General has an excellent commitment to its mission, Serving Others. They hire genuine leaders to inspire and develop talent. DG also has a dedication to promoting within. Some of our very own executives started in a store. DG gives its employees the opportunity to reach their dreams with a little hard work and dedication. The future of the company is clearly shared with employees.

Cons

The fast-paced environment that DG operates in can be a bit overwhelming at times.
