Pros

If you have a strong desire to succeed and then you could do well at Dlocal. You will get the chance to see the world as the company offers many travel opportunities to it's employees . If you like a challenge then this is definitely the type of company you should work in. Put shortly; this isn't a place for quitters; I quickly learned that if there's an issue which arises within the job, then you will be expected to solve it ( with the support of a great team ), but don't anticipate that your hand will be held through the process. I'd say that this is a place where you can start a fresh, start a new career and get off the merry go round which is the Israeli Hi-Tech Scene; this isn't a typical Israeli Tech company ( yet ) and there's no stagnant processes or meaningless tasks to fulfill as an employee. Everything which you do has a purpose and that purpose is to succeed both for the company and for yourself.

Cons

It's wonderful to be exposed to different people, different cultures and different ways of thinking and this is actually a pro- but the con that comes along with it is that the "mothership" branch on which Dlocal depends is in Uruguay, so sometimes waiting for answers is a bit frustrating; sometimes you can feel yourself trying to "beat the clock". However, the team is great, and the time difference issue can be overcome with oiling the machine better.

A nuance place

Pros

Nuance is definitely the theme for this particular review. You want to learn and grow? Come here! There's always a new big feature to develop in great company and take as much ownership as your are willing to. Yo want to work having a blast? Come here! You won't find a more friendly and inclusive place, all (and I mean ALL of them) will take personal responsibility in you working as comfortable as possible, with the up most vibrating energy Do you enjoy cutting edge technology or you rather a more tried-and-tested stack? Well, great news, you'll have both! There is a lot of excelent applications in the most used Java versions and all the legacy is being migrated to tried-and-tested stack or cutting-edge stacks, you'll have your pick!

Cons

Yes, I'm sorry, but I told you that nuance is the theme here: You want to learn and grown? Don't come here! You'll definitely learn and grow in experience if (and is a big if) your manager is not from the InnerCircle™. If your manager is from the InnerCircle™, then be ready, the spotlight task will be granted to the friends of the circle... yeah, I hear you asking if your team only the leader is from the InnerCircle™, the the oportunities are granted to their friends in other teams. Best of lucks next time, or try to run to a more agnostic team. Yo want to work having a blast? You can come here, is your choice, but be warned: there is a VIP club of friends, most (but not all) are working here from the start, and long term friends with some C-Level or VP, and these people is what I'm branding as the InnerCircle™. Just experience how the career-progressing task are distributed among them. Yeah, they are the mos upbeat people you can meet, but you'll neveer shake of that feeling how two-face they are. Do you enjoy cutting edge technology or you rather a more tried-and-tested stack? The pros on this one are the 90% of the cases, but the other 10%? Welcome to PHP Graveland. There is something wrong with PHP? Not really, well, unless the code base has been developed by a intern developer some 6-7 years ago, is still around in management, and with an unhealthy love for that mess. Good luck seeing one of those awful legacy apps being shut down, the bast majority of them are still around , being expanded in scope.
