Pros

Most people there are nice and talented Great coffee machine

Cons

Management seem only to care about being the biggest firm in the world. Management must be spending alot of money on this as there's none left for anything else People who quit are not replaced Employees are paying the price with loss of quality of life.

Pros

Midtown locations convenient to multiple subway lines. Free breakfast on Mondays.

Cons

Like the old locker room measurement of success. Staff still treated like plastic utensils. Staff layoffs happening and more to come while some work for 6 or 7 and some newly hired partners luxuriate in a 1:1 setting. Also raises and/or bonuses are paid in mid April for prior year. If you leave before that time you miss out any bonus and back pay you may have earned. Disability benefits are below par in NY area (and probably the country as far as law firms go). Below average vacation/sick time for new hires. Firm systems have been upgraded but still unable to handle the volume. Every other email is about billing and collecting.

Pros

Since this is a huge organization salary is best in class or so they say..... Nothing further than this is positive though.

Cons

I was promised a full time direct and a salary of 75k upon being hired. This was then rescinded to a Temporary contract position and $27/hr after I had given my previous employer notice of my leave. I was then promised a full time position at the firm at the end of my 6 month contract. Then I was put on a 3 month contract, and after that month to month. this is all while my production was steadily increasing and user feedback of me was generally positive. During this time I would ask my manager what the outlook was for me to be hired directly on. He kept saying give me a month, then 2 weeks, then a week etc. Benefits were becoming increasingly important to me as I was expecting a new baby. I also asked if they could let me know if they were planning to move on from me ahead of time after reluctantly revealing the arrival of my new child. Only to be told my contract was terminated after a high profile client was frustrated at my clear concise instructions and cursed at me for HER user error. When we had sent over via email The instructions previously anyway. At no point was I rude to her even after her violation of me I even told my manager what happened and everything I did to support.
