Pros

Remote work - handy during a global pandemic.

Cons

Soul destroying. Inane measurement systems. Orwellian intrusion. Zero holiday or sickness pay. Licensing outdated products.

We appreciate you reaching out about your experience. It sounds like the work here may not have been a good fit. It's important to understand that because independent contractors aren't employees, they don't accrue benefits like paid leave. This is true globally and not just at Crossover. It's one of the big reasons why the pay is so high – we deliberately overcompensate so workers can typically afford the healthcare packages and vacations that they would have expected in a salaried position, and still have some expendable income left over. Pros

Nothing really, was pretty bad overall. You know they surveil you, so par for the course I guess

Cons

The surveillance. My boss was nice, but his was disconnected.

We appreciate you reaching out about your experience. It sounds like the work here may not have been a good fit. We do use software to track progress. We find it's extremely valuable to help people stay productive while working from home – and ultimately, not more intrusive than a regular office layout where others can see you working. Pros

Pay on time, pay as advertised, no need to negotiate hidden fees: you have a role, that role has a set salary. Absolutely meritocratic, if you can pass the tests, you are in. In that regard they are an equal opportunity employer.

Cons

Constant change of metrics, excessive number of support agents that make the metrics impossible to reach (one metric is tickets per agent, since there are too many people few can reach the metric). The main problem seems to be that higher management changes their opinion very often on how the company must be run; and middle management scrambles to undo what was the right thing last week, to do this week's hot stuff.
