Pros

I have worked for about 10 years at local companies before joining Crossover. After 5 months, I can share the pros and cons of working here: - You don't spend any time commuting. For most of the local jobs I needed 8h + 1h lunch break + 2h commute. This means 11h/day spent with the job. Here I need just 8h. - It was hard to be productive all the time because of noise, personal issues of everyone, meetings, unnecessary interruptions and discussions. With crossover you can be fully productive for 8 hours. You can make your environment distraction-free. No unnecessary meetings. You are less tired. - You can do 40 hours anytime you want as long as you are available at the few meetings we have. - Overtime is paid extra if requested by the direct manager. - Great people to work with. - Better communication and synchronisation than at any local company I have worked with. We have people in the entire world and I never waited for more than a few hours for a reply. Usually, I get the reply immediately. - Software Engineering Managers with good technical background. - WorkSmart helps set the limit between work and personal life. - Very good documentation for tasks and projects. - In some cities the local community has a hub and other facilities. Members make working for Crossover feel less virtual.

Cons

- No paid vacation. Employees are less likely to take vacations, and this is not good for long-term productivity and stress management. - Projects are old, processes are not in place (at least at some clients). The good news is that everyone is working on improving them. - Not too many architecture/design tasks. - Projects may change very often. I like changing projects, but having a different project every month (with other structure, processes and technologies) to install, understand and modify might not be very productive. Also, you cannot do significant improvements. The good part is that you get training/documentation on every project and you can progress fast. - No informal discussions on new technologies (there are not too many informal discussions anyway). No technology conferences, presentations, meetups etc. - You don't see/meet the people you work with.

Pros

Work from home. weekly Salary .

Cons

Payment is done weekly. Effort is measured by a tool smart work. It is not 100% accurate. Sometimes it doesnot show the number of hours worked. As a result you wil loose the hours. On top of it crossover management team cut the effort if you even browse facebook for 5 min. Hence in this company only work matters. You should work 9 and more hours to be effectively shown as 8 hours. Rarely employee stays for more than 1 year in this company.

Thank you for taking the time to write us feedback. We take all negative feedback seriously and use your reviews to help make improvements for our partners. I am sorry to hear if you had any support issues with hours not tracking, we rarely see this and are able to address immediately if it is brought to our attention. In regards to WorkSmart, we clearly need to do a better job with our communication about it, so thank you for bringing that up. Crossover and our top performing partners rely on WorkSmart as a valuable tool. We use this to help track performance and productivity, let managers set training plans and assign tasks, keep our teams connected, and all while providing our partners with valuable information to help excel in their work performance. For some we do know working from home can cause outside distraction to get off task and this is where issues can come in. WorkSmart is there to help both our managers and partners succeed in their positions. If you would like to discuss concerns further or contact us with any other feedback we welcome you to email us at feedback@crossover.com. Thank you for letting us address your review and we look forward to continually improving as we grow.
