Pros

The coworkers are amazing and will keep you sane through the bad management. If you like the brand then the discount will benefit you.

Cons

Management is the WORST. They know Chinese people are their biggest customer base and stress it to you constantly, but as an actual Chinese person myself, they constantly looked down to me. All my coworkers were treated horribly, they did not accept your leave at all even if it was a family emergency. A lot of people were pushed out of the company after years of stable employment. In the three years I worked there, I saw a huge turnover of 7 managers. No one valued the staff and treated us as disposable numbers.

Incompentence of Management

Pros

Flexible hours and scheduling Great team environment Opportunities for growth are available in the company

Cons

The ability to work well is largely due to management. Depending on the store manager it is highly possible to have continually changing schedules with no advance notice to employees. My former store manager had difficulties creating and maintaining consistent schedules based off their projected dates. This incompetence resulted in last minute scheduling or compromising of personal plans. Training can be pushed to others where the store manager ends up neglecting or asking the team to train new employees instead of participating. Countless times where the store manager will remain in the back for a majority of the shift not contributing to selling or training team. Store manager was also frequently leaving early or showing up late while asking other employees to prolong their shifts. There are also issues within the HR team as they have notoriously been consistent in delaying final paychecks with false promises of contacting former employees. What ultimately happens is an ongoing battle to receive one’s final pay along with the penalty fees attached. Communication is not present at all within Tapestry. For a large company it is surprising that they are unable to pay former employees on time even when they have been given proper notice of their impending departure from the company.

Modern Luxury LOL

Pros

Discount and flexibility of hours

Cons

Management has been in the company since the year of the flood and have no idea how retail is operating in this century. They sell you on being people oriented during the recruitment process but only care about metrics. As an employee there are so many metrics you don’t know what to focus on tied with all the back of house procedures the company isn’t really focused on customer service or what it really means to be luxury. Brand is delusional in thinking they are part of a luxury market. They gear their advertising to tweens and twenty somethings but the actual customer walking in the door are the mothers and grandmothers of afore mentioned. Brand needs a reality check.
