Pros

Flexibility to work from home and awesome peers!! That's about it.

Cons

Oh boy.. where do I even begin? The biggest thing is they are placing leads with no experience to lead a team and upper management play favorites. If you are not a part of the inner circle then you will never move up the ladder. Cielo over promises the client and expects their recruiters to deliver unrealistic goals and expectations. Where they don't recognize hard workers for their performance and only promote people who has only been with the company longer but deliver less. Team leads have no experience leading the team and is basically the upper management's puppet. Recruiters suffer from not being able to deliver results the VP's promised the client which results in a laid off to remain their GP and make their numbers look good. Speak of numbers, that is ALL leads look at no matter much throughput you have put in, it's all numbers, numbers, numbers... Also, the in-house RecruitU program is a joke, nothing in the program teaches you on how to be a real recruiter, they will promote an Interviewing Specialist to a Recruiter but pay them way less than market wage to do a normal recruiters job. If you want to be valued for your work and don't want to be brown noser then I would most definitely not recommend working at Cielo.

Pros

Many recruiters work remotely.

Cons

Executives team has little recruitment expertise which causes them to make bad judgment calls. They run the company like a staffing agency versus like a higher level recruitment. Cielo has been fired by many clients as a result. When they win a big account they hire brand new recruiters, do not train them, and get fired. Employee layoffs are common. Even if you're a top performer you can't make up for a dysfunctional team and managers. Burn out culture.

Don't waste your time

Pros

No set schedule, as long as you work your 8 hours, they don't care WHEN you work throughout the day. Decent pay.

Cons

Literally everything else was terrible. When I was hired, I was interviewed by someone that seemed great and was really people focused. They had a great personality and seemed focused on the wellness of their team versus just the results they could get from them. After a few months, a "new" manager took over. She was either 25 minutes late for our weekly 1:1 or would cancel it every single time. When I asked about this, the individual became angry and began micro-managing my every move, including calling me up to 4 days a week to tell me how terrible I was. I escalated to Senior Management and was told I'd be moved to another group/manager. Before that change could take effect, I was "laid off" due to "economic downturn." It's also ironic that Cielo's executive team and training teams were posting on LinkedIn about promotions and raises at the same time the layoff occurred. What a waste of time.

Hi there, this is Greg Summers, Chief Customer Officer. It's important that everyone is given the opportunity to succeed during their role at Cielo, and I am sorry that you faced a number of challenges during your time with us. The Senior Leadership Team are always looking for ways to evaluate and improve. As you will be aware, the industries we support and our organization have faced difficult times at present and we've been forced to make some tough decisions as a result of this. We're optimistic, however that this will slowly start to improve over the coming months. It's vital that all our managers are fully engaged with their teams and work closely with employees to create a positive and productive working environment. Based on the comments from your personal experience, I would like to investigate this directly. Please can you contact me at Greg.Summers@cielotalent.com, and I will take your feedback and the appropriate action, if necessary to ensure that this does not happen in the future.
