Pros

Good benefits, cool coworkers, nice products, teaches you skills outside of normal retail.

Cons

Never being able to take PTO because you are very understaffed. You’re understaffed because regular associates make minimum wage but have to put in 10x more effort because of how much training we have. Seems burnout culture is beginning to heighten especially during this pandemic where team sizes have been cut drastically.

Pros

Easy commute/parking, simple job, some really nice co-workers. The Glow is also very cool.

Cons

No one actually knows anything about mattresses, both yours, and the competition. Stupid internal messaging about dominating the "Sleep Economy." Oh, and good luck making bonus...Most stores don't. Ever. Sales goals are made up from thin air.

Pros

2 Free pillows after 1 month of employment. Free Mattress after 6 months of employment Can be a fun environment. Benefits. Bonuses.

Cons

At times it can feel like you are micro-managed. Sometimes you feel like you get so much praise if you make big sales but when you don't perform well it feels like you get picked on. Pay could be better... Most sleep specialist either are working a second job, looking for a second job or just looking to replace this job all together. You kinda get sucked in with the bonus. You don't want to leave before you get a bonus check because you worked so hard for it, but you are also ready to leave. Sometimes the VP sends emails with 2 sentences of praise then the rest of the email is negative. The VP is more negative then he is positive. We also get beat out by our third party retailers (Costco, Amazon, Target & QVC). Sleep specialist get directed to lie to customers (by store managers) about products that are sold outside of the store to make a sale. Honestly it just feels like high school all over again.
