Pros

Interesting products and technology. Close bonds between some groups of employees. Good feeling from working on products related to health care field.

Cons

Bizzare culture of lies, intimidation and fear. The "little people" are treated like chattle. My manager avoids all contact with the people under him. There are no rewards, only degrees of punishment.

Pros

Coworkers and their support of each other keep things running. The product line is terrific and the sales team works very, very hard. There is an excellent story of product offerings.

Cons

No matter what you do, it is never enough. Employees work endless hours and feel required to work those endless hours. Leadership behavior towards employees is unacceptable.

Pros

Actual work is valuable and for the most part valued by immediate supervisors. Carestream is successfully generating revenue in a diffucult economic climate.

Cons

In the short span of 3 years, upper management has successfully demotivated and demoralized their entire US based workforce. Performance management directives require all managers to rank their employess annually and at other times when budgets are tight. Managers are required to force fit the performance of their group members into a 5-point scale where the lowest category recieves 10% of the group, regardless of the quality of their particular group. Managers, backed by HR, support the rating in writing. The lower performers may then be given a reasonable or unreasonable task list to complete intended to demonstrate their ability to close the gap. If the employee does not complete the task list to satisfaction, the employee is dismissed or fired, meaning no separation benefits.
