Pros

Unlimited comission potential. Great people for the most part.

Cons

Don't really know where to begin. I was a sales associate for a year and a half. Seems like store happiness in terms of associates varys greatly with the quality of location GM. I had a great gm who was there for years, was fired and replaced by someone who was unapproachable and blatantly disregarded the concerns of associates. He also intimidated sales managers and added and additional 30 sales associates. This greatly reduced opportunity for assocites and numbers declined. There was a lack of promotion from within as well. When you have nearly 80 sales associates, many who have been waiting for an opportunity to move up, why would you bring in four new managers from the outside after the others quit? Horrible treatment of assocites in regards to performance. If your the type of person that needs to be left alone during even the slightest of sales slumps to get your mojo back, don't even think about working here. Corporate HR is a joke. They talk to hand picked associates during visits and turn a blind eye to complaints. Survey scores for gm and management from associates were awful and nothing was done.

Pros

good benefits, opportunity for growth.

Cons

work schedule was horrible. work days, nights holidays weekends. You only had a two week schedule. so after that you had no idea when your next day off was. it changed every week based on company needs. If you were scheduled off Sunday and Monday then the next week you might be off Friday and Saturday. That means you ten days until your next day off with no overtime. sometimes you close then open the next morning. I understand retail has to work these hours, but they should have some continuity so you can have a life. I worked there 15 years. the schedule was very hard on me and my family. I had to go. I would be there ten more years if they had a better schedule.

Pros

It can feel very rewarding to get someone in a car. Whether it's a young person getting their own car for the first time, or someone with challenging credit. You CAN make some decent money, but it's very unpredictable due to commission only pay. The company does try to give you a diverse work schedule (it's retail after all) by giving you a 3 day weekend off every 6 weeks. But your schedule changes constantly. Decent benefits.

Cons

Management are full of themselves. They have many methods in place to help "develop" you...code for micro-manage. They definitely have favorites and play to that. Work/life balance is somewhat up to you. If you choose to answer your phone on your day off and potentially go in to close a sale...that's up to you. Or you can split it. But it's a constant mental struggle to take your days off or feel like you're losing money.
