Pros

the company used to have great people work there with true hands on , down to the earth, hard core engineers which i admired and learned a lot over the years. great benefit and work life balance. had fun over the years.

Cons

the company had its great times and owned key IP in the past. over the years, it started to loose shares, talents and tons of great engineers retired. at the same time, the company struggled to re-innovate itself and also had a hard time to maintain market share with its core product line in north america. its very sad to see once a great brand name going south.

Pros

Good pay & benefits. If you want to move around the country or world, they can do that for you if you're in the right field.

Cons

Good-old-boys club reigns. If one manager doesn't like you, chances are good that your manager will get rid of you. The manager who won't play that game does exist at CNH, but is rare. Yearly reviews are essentially a popularity contest. HR tells the managers that only so many people get good reviews, so the managers choose who gets the best reviews, and rank the rest by arbitrary and capricious rationing. HR talks about career paths, but if you want to get really & truly promoted, or a pay raise more than once every 6-8 years, you have to change fields (engineering to management, etc...) or leave the company and come back after a few years. Managers talk about wanting to make meaningful change, but that is only true if the change suggestions comes from the favorites. Anyone else is shot down. Engineering management loves to make late changes to "the plan" which have huge impact on the projects, but refuse to change deadlines and expect people to move heaven & earth to "make it happen".

Pros

- A few good products to over

Cons

- Revolving door for VPs and CEO on a yearly basis - Company unable to retain talent since they are not paying well compared to industry - Employee structure way too lean, which results in poor support - No yearly salary review for all. Company does not believe in salary review and increase. You will be stuck with the same base as long as you do not change role - Company with no direction whatsoever, does not have the means of their ambition
