Pros

Design training @ HQ. Enjoyed in-home consultation, and breadth of product to work with. Design software/rendering solid

Cons

Horrible experience! Low pay + long hours. INCREDIBLE sales pressure without support ie : customer service, trade program. Everything inflexible, incredibly rigid without ANY sense of pragmatism or nuance - everything had to be difficult. Abusive sales meetings every week, in which entire staff is chastised by screaming sales directors - who bring no fresh ideas to drive business, except to continually harass customers ( follow up phone calls required LITERALLY every day at times ) I liked my manager, colleagues, and design environment, but sales directors and owners completely out of touch, tactless, and abusive. Turn-over rate is INCREDIBLY high because of this - they make it a MISERABLE PLACE TO WORK. Cheated me out of $1,500+ worth of commissions when I left. TOXIC TOXIC TOXIC - STAY AWAY!

Pros

BoConcept has an amazing furniture collection, the design of the inventory is top tier and easy to sell to customers. Meeting people from different countries. Networking.

Cons

Before joining BoConcept I was very excited to further my design experience and learn more about the Scandinavian and Danish furniture industry. When coming on board to the team I felt my excitement for staying with the company changed drastically. The management was very superficial and condescending. If you did not sell the exact way they wanted you too, they will beat you down for it. The company almost felt like a cult. Upper management will talk behind your back in other languages, pulling down new hires who they were trained and hired to help succeed. I have never had a job take such an adverse toll on my mental health until I joined BoConcept. I feel like a whole new person after getting the hell out of there. I felt more like a ROBOT then an actual salesperson. Another Con about this company is the work life. You will have none to say the least, unless you don't mind giving up your weekends and working a 9- to 10 hour shift almost everyday. Also, you will never have an opportunity to have a weekend off, EVER. The company culture is stressful and not worth the sacrifices you will have to make when joining the "team". I do not recommend this job to anyone who likes to be compensated well and also have a life outside of work.

Pros

BoConcept has decent brand recognition

Cons

Every position at this company has a very high turn over. When I started, every employee was fired except for myself and the Assistant Manager. They do not value any employee at this Showroom, everyone is expendable and blamed for their lack of sales. I have personally seen the owner humiliate their employees in front of the whole staff. They have an awful marketing department and do not try and increase foot traffic, which is atrocious. If you want to be micro managed, humiliated, work for only 3-6 months before getting fired and have someone watch your every move on a camera every day, this is the place for you! Welcome to 1984!
