New leadership does not appreciate its people
Pros
The people here are top notch and super friendly. The old friendly and helpful culture is still around, but recent guidelines do not emphasize that anymore, so it's hard to say what will happen. Historically, great benefits and perks. Summer hours, nice bonuses, Stock Purchase Program, weekly Social Hour, winter shutdown, sabbaticals, remote work, reliable raises if you perform well - all things the new leadership is threatening. Reliable raises are gone now.
Cons
The company is in a big transition in its culture. New CEO / HR / CFO, etc. It's not clear where we will land, but this is definitely not the Biogen of even 3-5 years ago. It's beginning to feel like a soul-less mega-corp and that is just so sad. New compensation guidelines are very hard on every single employee. You can work 60 hrs a week, far exceed expectations, do everything that is asked and more, and still your manager can do very little to reward you for that. This has really decreased morale among the top performers at the company. Why bother to work 50-60 hours a week, when others work less than 40 and get the same raise? 1-2 people in the entire department get a raise sufficient to counteract inflation. Do amazing, get a top score and the raise you get is the same % that an average performer got for the last twenty years. Doesn't feel good at all.
