Pros

Good pay and bonuses, $2 lunches, gym membership discounts

Cons

Huge turnover, and when people leave, they take their time to replace them. Management could not care less when good people quit. Constantly understaffed and overworked, and there will be blaming and huge consequences if you do not finish doing two people's work on time. Frequently hire consultants from Accenture, and PWC and Deloitte, who are a nightmare to work with. Culture of throwing people under the bus and stealing credit for other people's work. Some people work 40/wk and some work 80/week. Work life balance is terrible for you if you have a bad supervisor, and moving to other departments is impossible.

Pros

Pay is great - too high to easily leave Benefits are great - some gaps and co-pays and insurance premiums up significantly in past three years Retirement - very good

Cons

Management doesn't live their "Charter Values" Say one thing to comfort staff, then have had four layoffs in two years - every time was the "last" Performance reviews not worth anything - no rating given, nothing to point to years later to show the value you've added Bonus being diluted into a Darwinian scramble for a fixed pool of money -- you only gain if you peers lose

Pros

Pay and benefits second to none and the reason most people hang around, the dictorial leadership have mostly moved out there is a hope the new management can change that image but it will take time and will they have the will power to see it through. Some awesome young talent that shines, mostly great people to work alongside

Cons

Too much process, lack ofopportunities to progress, if you haven't done it in BHP then it doesn't count, and it doesn't matter if your outside experience is far more extensive than the "BHP People" it still doesnt count. Too many "A" types make it a political cut throat atmosphere for those wanting to get on. Some of their managers are poor and have a "me" type attitude and not a supportive and development of teams attitude, this is a shame due to the talent they have available The market perception of BHP, they don't pay their vendors, cost driven, talk strategic partnership and relationships but don't walk the talk, hire and fire mentality towards vendor.....
