Pros
Pay and benefits second to none and the reason most people hang around, the dictorial leadership have mostly moved out there is a hope the new management can change that image but it will take time and will they have the will power to see it through. Some awesome young talent that shines, mostly great people to work alongside
Cons
Too much process, lack ofopportunities to progress, if you haven't done it in BHP then it doesn't count, and it doesn't matter if your outside experience is far more extensive than the "BHP People" it still doesnt count. Too many "A" types make it a political cut throat atmosphere for those wanting to get on. Some of their managers are poor and have a "me" type attitude and not a supportive and development of teams attitude, this is a shame due to the talent they have available The market perception of BHP, they don't pay their vendors, cost driven, talk strategic partnership and relationships but don't walk the talk, hire and fire mentality towards vendor.....
