Many leaders and task coordinators - far fewer actual workers.

Pros

Great "team" feeling in the "trenches" - as long as it's not time for performance reviews.

Cons

Responsibilities seem to go from "we" to "you" - it seems that some of the people that advance the most and/or have longevity are those that can easily assign those responsibilities. An amazing number of team members seem to offer help just prior to performance measurement time. That direction often changes shortly after merit increase notifications are distributed. A double-edged sword of cooperation - team members will readily help members of their OWN team FIRST, regardless of MEASURED workload of their team compared to others. The success of the TEAM is paramount to the success of the GROUP of teams.

Pros

Interesting and challenging job working in field 100% of time with little supervision.

Cons

Company has great technology and heritage but management would rather emulate competitors than stake its leadership position. Training and career advancement have been completely eliminated.

Pros

Technology is the pro in this company. In particular the remote support embedded technologies and the multi-modal capabilities. However, Avaya has not been able invest in refreshing its technology road map for the future and not prepared for the market shifts.

Cons

One of the biggest cons in this company is that most of the profits are going to the investors, therefore any CAGR (corporate annual growth rate) which should have a portion allocated to R&D is just simply not there. Eventually the company will not survive if it keeps on this trajectory. The underlying agenda of the investors is to show the company as EBITA positive, however the company sacrifices the future in doing so. The company also struggles in being dominated by services revenue rather than net new business which has continued to erode sales performances.
