      Pros

      Leading edge technology company, Fairly meritocratic, fair salary and working conditions, global company and environment where global collaboration is encouraged.

      Cons

      Highly indebted and revenues declining. Challenging market environment where its core markets are declining. Formidable competitors. Not listed on stock exchange so no stock options for employees (unless top management). Low variable salary as company struggles to meet its targets.

      Company going down hill

      Pros

      It paid the bills for the past five years. I got to work from home. No travel required.

      Cons

      Squeezed the life out of technology for collaboration. Never met my colleagues in person the whole time I was there. No training opportunities to keep skills up-to-date, unless you just want to be certified in their own products. No 401k match (which is nickles) unless they make quarterly profits. HSA employer contributions are based on mickie mouse activities to "earn" their match.

      Pros

      Avaya is desperately trying to stay relevant, and they struggle to know how to actually accomplish that. They remain strong in the Contact Center space, but are losing relevant with UC.

      Cons

      They've gotten smaller and smaller as a company the last 4 years. There is more work per person, and the good people are moving on because they are tried of being over-worked.
