Just a sad situation

Pros

Income is good .. But if let go, not so good. Decent Products with Good Customer Base Income is good but comparable with other companies. Home office for sales but not for every role.

Cons

Poor Culture, Stressful Conditions, Fear-Based. Focus on Negative, often Hostile and Degrading. Benefits are not up to par. No 401K match so far and high cost medical out of pocket. Discretionary Vacation lends the opposite affect... You do not feel like you deserve a vacation or know when you can take it.

Something to be desired

Pros

Working for an IT manufacturer gives you a window into a lot of different industries, public sector organizations and general economic insight.

Cons

Avaya specifically offers very little in the way of culture, professional development or anything that may generate a sense of pride and loyalty in its employees. As a young professional approaching 3 years with the company, I am feeling ever more anxious that I am wasting valuable "development" years with a company that has zero interest in investing in its people or "thinking big" about the future

Cons

1) Management only focuses on bottom line results for their investors 2) Too many reorganizations in order to avoid accountability and transparency 3) Consistent downsizing while increasing pressure on remaining teams with unrealistic goals 4) Micromanagement & bureaucracy 5) No focus, strategy and direction
