Good people, good benefits, good salaries. Safety is a key focus and a reasonable work life balance is possible. Nice offices.

Cons

Promotions based exclusively on politics. Don't waste your time thinking that a career path depends of hard work. A lot of internal games for power.

Pros

Working with competent and well-experienced project staff on complex major capital resource and infrastructure projects. Broad scope of work that was interesting and variable.

Cons

All the hallmarks of a big corporate mining house. Multiple layers of redundancy in decision making meant a lot of good ideas never saw the light of day. Top-heavy management that was highly political. Quiet a number of ex-mine managers who had been "put-out to pasture" in high-paid, low-impact roles. Bureaucratic processes. Cultural black-hole in the department I worked in where the owner's team were viewed similarly to external contractors.

The company really focuses on business integrity and safety.

Cons

The upper level management has a very elitist attitude and barely acknowledges staff beneath them. It does nothing to boost morale.
