Pros

Great people. Great products. Massive training opportunities. Never a dull day.

Cons

12 hour job. Senior leaders clueless to the actual work flow and needs of the business. No upward movement. Full time focus just to stay employed. Work force diluted with contract employees with extremely poor communications skills.

Pros

It's a good starting job, you get to learn technologies they never teach in schools or in Cisco netacad. You'll probably end up in a team full of nice people and make a lot of friends. Everyone has their very narrow role, so it's harder for people to weasel out of their responsibilities. You will probably improve your english a bit, through talking to customers or through sponsored courses.

Cons

Make sure you're good at negotiating your starting salary, in the (rare) case of promotion, you'll get maximum 10% increase, even if your new team literally makes 50% more than your old. Oh yeah, don't forget that getting a raise needs approval from VPs, so it takes around 6 months and can be declined at any time. People tend to be evaluated not by performance or skills, but mostly by length of employment with AT&T... Depending on your position it may get dull in very short time, usually you stop learning new things after 6 months to 1 year.

A company as large as ours requires a lot of collaboration and approvals, which can be a lengthy process. Pros

- international company environment - good work-life balance (some positions provide schedule flexibility and occasional home office ) - growth opportunities - lot of training available in a wide range of area and domains - nice offices location with accessibility to a lot of nearby facilities

Cons

- outsourced and overseas locations are suffocated with bureaucracy and management - limited salary increases, which depend on many other factors (like frequent financial freezes, HR imposed limits) and not only on great employee performance - depending on opportunity, some positions don't offer market competitive salary according to location
