Pros

I suppose there are always opportunities in case your job goes away.

Cons

You really feel like a number at this very large company. Has a very traditional management hierarchy, with the upper management getting considerable perks (rumors of valets to top off gas and wash cars in their reserved parking area). Meanwhile, further down the chain, employees are subject to extreme cost cutting measures (no free coffee/tea, pulling teeth to get office supplies). First couple tiers of management always seem to get crapped on so that the union workers get cheap medical benefits, and upper management doesn't have to compromise on their benefits.

Pros

employee phone concession. the poeple who actually do work for a living are usually good to work with.

Cons

we seem to be overrun with "leaders" who have lost sight of what it means to put in an honest days work. either that or they never knew what that was to begin with...too much decision making consolidation going on - leaving those who know best how to get the job done without the ability to do so!
