Pros

- Good WLB, depending on team/function/client - Collaborative culture - Great people - Chance to work with people all over the globe - Can really pivot your career in the organisation if the opportunities are there

Cons

It was great whilst it lasted. When I first started at AMS, I really believed that I could grow a career here. For the first few years it was great. However, in late 2022/ early 2023, the organisation started to get more money hungry in order to please the private equity owners. After a big hiring spree in 2021, there were a huge number of redundancies because they grew far too quickly. This seems to have continued, with more and more departments being impacted as time went on. AMS continued to be cautious, which meant for those who were left, there was no room for progression or promotion. For those who had the potential for promotion, no level of extra hard work or effort would be recognised. Let's face it, you can't pay bills with extra job satisfaction or appreciate points. To continue to reduce costs, AMS is now focused on building out teams in lower cost locations, APAC in particular. Several functions have been 'transformed' which is just a euphemism for mass redundancies within any UK based teams. Belfast and Krakow have been left to fall to the way side, as we're no longer cheap enough. Instead of re-skiling people for the jobs of the future, AMS would much prefer to discard us. Unless of course you have friends in the right places....

Pros

Level 3-4 Leadership is great.

Cons

They don’t care about you. Even if your team is overachieving, if they can save money for their client, they’ll move your team out of the US and leave you jobless.
