Pros

- There are some wonderful people at ADT to learn from - A lot to learn, several new technologies that are utilized in a modern environment - The cafeteria is great - Team building activities can be a lot of fun

Cons

- Don't come here if you're expecting to be treated with respect by your colleagues or management, they'll treat you like garbage if you take a bit longer to learn than others - Highly cutthroat culture, I saw multiple occasions where employees were worried about getting sacked or trying to get others fired - Managers like to accuse you of skipping work for taking your mandated lunch breaks - Extremely poor work/life balance - Company Politics/Gossip - Senior developers like to gossip about you to higher management for you asking questions, they word it as 'you don't get it and are incompetent' after they give you the wrong code and it breaks then you ask them why it didn't work - Management are basically a bunch of know it alls, no room for personal opinion or flavor, they think they're the only ones with right answers - Management picks favorites - I've faced harassment, ridicule, been cussed out, and managers don't do anything about it except blame others conduct on you - Asking superiors for help often leaves to a cold "What do you want?" response as if they don't even want to be your teammates - Don't work with the AEM team, stalest team I've ever worked on Quite frankly, stay away from ADT if you value your sanity. I quit the same day because of how awful it got. The company is going downhill, is severely understaffed, they don't appreciate you working until 3 in the morning then coming in at 6A.M. to get more work done if you don't meet their specific wants. Basically, employees are overworked, underappreciated, stressed out all the time, I can't mention how many colleagues have told me they hated working for the company. I'm serious - look at the average glassdoor reviews. If you're trying to START your career, beware and look somewhere else.

Pros

Freedom, you're not stuck in an office or required to show up every day at the office

Cons

Not a smooth transition when company merged. They had so much time to plan and it went horribly. They took a good thing and destroyed it.

Pros

- Excellent brand recognition, reliable products being sold. - Great first sales job (micromanaged daily tasks means you will learn the ADT way to sell, no exceptions) - Commission only sales job (which USED to be a huge plus, but see below to view all the other tasks given to these sales reps which do not convert to $$ in your pocket)

Cons

- Corporate controlled bidding process rarely allows the sales reps to remain competitive within the alarm space. - Company focusing more on sales over the phone, this means you often will be prospecting in the field and find a location was already sold over the phone before you arrive. - **You will even find that resale sites have been sold over the phone before you even see them disconnect from service internally. You can't win. - Competition from outside companies, as well as internal ADT phone sales, and independent ADT branded dealers. It's a lose/lose for anyone selling w ADT - Sales directives come from middle management, (not your direct manager) and regions as a whole are in steep decline. Those on the ground have no say in how to manage their territory. - Because ADT is such a large organization, you will not have the latest products or tech available. You will have what came out 1-2 years ago because that's how long it takes to approve a product for the company to sell. - With DIY alarm products becoming much better and more affordable, I don't foresee ADT to be able to compete. - Technicians have been jumping ship as well, leading to longer waits for install openings.
