Pros

A few friendly co-workers. Water machine in the lunchroom.

Cons

Poor management from the third floor down. HR run by incompetent people. Building is dirty, bathrooms are filthy. I worked there for years and watched so many boys club members get promoted, or get jobs created for them. This could be a good company if management was given a complete overhaul.

Good place to start your career, ......just don't stay too long.

Pros

I have been with this organization for over 10 years. There are lots of employees that have long tenure with the company, which is a positive thing. Good work-life balance, generous paid-time-off. Depending on your job telecommuting can be an option. Front line associates are awesome!

Cons

You would think this place was a fortune 100 corporation, it's so cutthroat. Very top heavy with upper management. If you work at Wilmington headquarters you're in the "cool kids club". Everyone is a Director, Managing Director or Executive VP with few if any direct reports!! The organization has had tremendous growth over the last several years, which can be stressful. Major emphasis on the numbers and obtaining unrealistic sales goals. There is huge turnover with the insurance business line because of this. HR is a sad joke, not sure how they sleep at night. It's become a sterile organization that only pays lip service to their "Shared Values". There are women in upper management, but no minorities, the one that was there mysteriously disappeared after 4 years on the job without a word said about it.

Any Associate who has worked for AAA over 10 years is of great value to the Organization, and your insight is welcomed. You are right, ACA has been growing over the years with the intent to better serve our Members. Growing pains can be expected during transitions, it is our goal to live up to ACA’s Shared Values and “walk the walk”. Stick with us, we can and will.

Pros

The money is good if you over perform, pay for performance. They got me my insurance license and I was able to move around, change positions over the years until I got to sales and was in that role for 5+ year. Great sales incentive trips, made it to Hawaii twice on their dime, Disney, California and Atlantis Bahamas to name a few.

Cons

Some of the incentives no matter how good you do are out of your control and they will constantly find a way not to pay you. Management will not stand up for you and have your back if there is an issue. Management has lost track of front line associate needs. Management will say one thing to your face and something completely different behind your back. Increased turnover. In the midst of an ongoing merger with another club.
