I applied online. I interviewed at Wise (Budapest) in Oct 2021
Interview
One of the most useless interviews ever. They seem nice but I could tell they are jerks. Left me waiting for 5mins and telling about benefits without mentioning salary. Trap questions
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
About what you did working 6 years ago. They kept hammering on this question using different tactics. For a company who claims to be innovative, the questions should be what would you do now? People change, time is ever changing.
I applied through a recruiter. The process took 2 months. I interviewed at Wise (Ámsterdam) in Nov 2021
Interview
Recruiter doesn't reply for weeks without giving clarity. Showstopper feedback was irrelevant to the technical rounds. Unnecessarily spent time for nothing.
Coding interviewers were nice though. In system design interview, it seemed that interviewer had very specific things that he wanted to hear from me. But a lot of questions were replied vaguely with something like "but how do you think? it's up to you, you can define it". In system design interview I expect interviewers to give me business requirements so that I could build corresponding system, not the opposite.
Overall very poor experience with long responses and broken communication. Very sad and disappointing.

System design: messaging app.
Coding: simple OOP problem.
I applied through a recruiter. The process took 4 days. I interviewed at Wise
Interview
Entire interview ended in 15mins. It was a first round with the HR and was approached by a recruiter for this role. HR was not interested at all, asking very basic questions. Questions were one-way with barely any follow up interactions, just a Q&A format.
To make things worse, HR interviewer seems rather hostile when questions were asked, and made 0 attempts to understand any of my experience and qualifications. In addition, HR picked and corrected me for no reason when I spoke correctly of the job title and description of the job, to an extent that I thought this was a completely different role.
A disappointing experience overall and one of the worse I have encountered. Very concerning if this is the type of experience the firm wants to portray to talents and potential candidates. Rather surprised to receive such an experience especially when the general feedback I got about the company were rather positive.
