I applied through college or university. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at Verizon (Chennai) in Jul 2009
Interview
The interview consisted of a skills/IQ test.I got through the test. It was conducted for about 150 students and 20 were selected. And then we had two rounds of interview. Technical and HR.
The technical interview was quite good. They just asked some basics about C++ and other programming languages, and about networks and some logical questions in math.
And then there was HR interview, in which I had real fun, they spoke about my college, i criticized, they were shocked and I said that I am being frank and true. They asked why we should hire you? I said given something to do, even if I dont have any prior knowledge about it, I could do it learning things and taking some guidance. they got impressed and selected me for the position.
That was a very good interview.
I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Verizon in Jul 2010
Interview
Went through the phone interview and skills test and was scheduled for one on one interview the next day, and told if there was a problem making the appt, to just call and reschedule. Turns out I couldn't make the interview the next day, and called shortly after leaving the skills test to reschedule. Called twice. Both times was told someone would call me back to reschedule. Days later, I had a voice mail with a number to call to reschedule. Called the number, no answer, left a message. Frustrated, I just kind of said to heck with it. Not the only job out there, you know...
