Future Leaders Program.
First updated CV which was fine.
Then had to do the company fit test, but I filled it in as looking from a sales/customerdevelopment manager point of view. Which gave results that absolutely did not fit in with what they are looking for.

I applied online. I interviewed at Unilever in Nov 2016
Interview
Level 1 - fill application online by uploading your CV
Level 2- Online games to determine your suitability with the role
Level 3- On Demand Video Interview. Can be done anytime at your convenience and you record your answers
Level 4 - Discovery Centre (basically assessment centre)
I applied for Customer Development Role at Unilever Netherlands – Rotterdam.
The only application requirement was a Masters degree.
I was asked on the application if I speak Dutch. I said “NO”
I was asked if I speak English. I said “YES”
The application expressly stated that English is the official working language of Unilever.
I made it through to the Video Interview Stage, however I experienced some technical hitches. I reached out to HireVue and they on my behalf reached out to the recruiter at Unilever to enquire if my interview could be reset, as it failed to load my 2nd and 3rd question and automatically moved me to question 4.
I received the rudest shock when the contact from HireVue told me that the recruiter checked my CV and said they could not reset my interview and progress further with my application as I did not speak Dutch. I was sent an automatic rejection mail even before I completed the online interviews.
I was initially conducting my interviews with the mobile app and later decided to try it with a PC and It solved the IT challenges. It was able to load the skipped questions and I was able to finish my interviews to the end.
But check this- I had already been rejected, before completing the interview because human bias had set in.
A recruiter had checked my profile seen I was not from the Netherlands and was looking for an excuse to boot me out.
I was not assessed based on the performance of my video interview rather I was told that I don’t speak Dutch and that Dutch is a requirement of the position ! That is false because this was not stated on the application form. If Dutch was a requirement then I would not even have made it this far. The system would have cut me off based on that.
The reason Unilever decided to use an online assessment approach is to remove the potential for unconscious bias and create a level playing field for all applicants and also increase their applicant pool.
The whole experience was just biased in my opinion.

Question 1
In a sales team and one of your team mates is not meeting target. How will you sort this issue
I applied through college or university. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at Unilever (London, ON) in Jan 2016
Interview
Application through school. One round interview on campus. Interviewers were very friendly and casual - they were dressed casually. Interview was very conversational and informal. Mostly behavioural questions plus a market sizing question. Overall a pleasant experience. Try researching about the company ahead of time - especially the Unilever Sustainability Living Plan.
